Welcome to Starfish Fitness
Starfish Fitness was developed in September 2001 by Ben Luscombe as a new concept of outdoor training focusing on participation, fun and well being while still getting the result YOU want. Our first slogan was "we can get you any result you can get in a gym ... outdoors, now were would you rather be?" As the years went on Starfish Fitness has developed an Aquatic Program like no other bringing the sense of community and fun into the development of swimmers of all ages. This program has now strengthened to which Starfish Fitness has become a recognised name with the community
With launching its aquatic program in 2002 Starfish Fitness has worked along side existing swimming clubs. Starfish Fitness has seen the clubs numbers grow from in excess of 250% in two years. As part of starfish's services to the community in 2003 it launched its swimmers with a disability program which has developed swimmers from Learn To Swim to Competitive Squad levels working with groups such as Horizon inc. The program has attracted over 110 participants making it one of the largest disability swimming programs on the southside of Brisbane. As part of the Aquatic program Star-Aqua was developed and customized to get RESULTS by combining a good solid cardio based workout with a little touch of muscle toning then finishing with a little surprise. To find out what this surprise is you just have to come and try a class.
In 2004 a new breed of Starfish Fitness developed, Starfish Events. The focus of Starfish Events is to develop events for everyone, from the competitive state level competitions to community based fitness events. Some previous events are The Shop-a-Docket State Aquathlon Championships, the Starfish Cup and the Starfish Community Pool Parties.
Today Starfish Fitness vision is to be the biggest promoter of health and fitness involving the WHOLE COMMUNITY. Working with everyone and any-one to achieve our one primary goal...
